Vortex Strategy & Recruitment is actively seeking a CPA, Auditor for our client, a well-established provincial accounting firm. The position is located at the Brossard office.

The successful candidate will work closely with two partners within a firm where the team culture is built on a people-focused and passionate approach, with strong values embedded in daily operations.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform compilation engagements;

  • Carry out review engagements;

  • Prepare financial statements;

  • Clear review notes with quality control;

  • In collaboration with a manager or partner, participate in the planning of engagements;

  • Develop system tests;

  • Provide relevant recommendations to improve clients’ accounting practices;

  • Prepare personal and corporate tax returns;

  • Meet with clients to explain their personal tax returns and obtain signatures;

  • Communicate with partners, managers, colleagues, and clients;

  • Supervise the work of junior or intermediate auditors in the execution of large-scale review engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Graduate Diploma (DESS);

  • Hold the CPA professional designation;

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an auditor within an accounting firm;

  • Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE and ASNPO);

  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations;

  • Ability to work on multiple files simultaneously;

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;

  • Excellent priority management and strong organizational skills;

  • Bilingualism will be considered an asset.
